Coordinating Council
Lee Brewster
I grew up on a cattle ranch in Montana, but have been living in California most of my life. I still feel the natural world into which I was born shaped my soul. I love nature, and movement and have been a movement teacher for the last ten years or so. I also love whole foods plant based eating, and love to cook. Recently, I have made my first quilt, taught by another quilting village member. As I age, the village becomes more and more important to stay connected and thrive. I love learning Bridge and quilting and olive picking–all activities added to my life due to the village!

Virginia “Ginny” Matthews
I have been a professional contemporary dancer almost all of my life, including running my own dance company in San Francisco for many years. I have also been a Zen Buddhist for more than 50 years, and am a lay Buddhhist nun in the tradition of Rinzai Zen. I am the mother of three grown sons, and grandmother of four. Dance and spiritual practice continue to inform my life, and that includes participating as a council member in the Sebastopol Village, creating authentic community here in Sebastopol. i love my spiritual life, my family, and my community here in Sebastopol, where I have lived for 30 years.
David Gill
I’ve lived on High Street for over 10 years with my partner, SV member Patricia Cavanaugh. While I’m self-employed as a specialist in the licensing of radioactive materials in medicine, I also serve on the SV coordinating council, coordinate the Sebastopol Area Time Bank, and sing baritone in and serve as VP of the Healdsburg Chorus. I learned of the Village Movement while living in the East Bay and as a member of the Life Planning Network (which is where I met Patricia!). We were both involved in an earlier iteration of Sebastopol Village. I’m well-versed in technology and love to watch ice hockey, and I can occasionally sit quietly in our garden and take in the beauty of the world around me.

Patrick Woodworth
After teaching creative writing and literature in high school for 30 years, I focused my attention on birding and natural history, serving on the board of Audubon Canyon Ranch for seven years. I have lived in Sebastopol since 1973. I love the quiet vitality of our community and was moved to express that love by adopting the Village Movement model for aging in place so I could be part of this community as long as possible. Lee Brewster and I were married in 1996 and have lived on Bonnardel Avenue since 1995. Happily, my daughter and her family also live here.
